Open Internet Explorer and click the cog in the top right-hand corner and select “Internet Options” as pictured below. 

A dialogue box will appear, please select the “Connectivity” tab at the top and then click “LAN Settings” at the bottom, as pictured below.

An additional dialogue box will open, go to the section where it says “Proxy server”, you will see two ticked boxes, if you untick the first box which says “Use a proxy server for your LAN” this will disable the proxy and allow you to use your home internet. 

You MUST make sure when you come to use your laptop back at school that you turn this back on by simply going to the same place and ticking the first box again which will enable the school internet.  

If for any reason the box next to the address is not prefilled when you turn the proxy back on, please type wf1.thegrid.org.uk or come and visit us in ICT Support.
